UFS Receives $3,500 Grant from Target Corporation
United Family Services received a $3,500 grant from Target for the agency’s Victim Assistance Domestic Violence program. Target Spokesperson Leah Guimond said the corporation supports nonprofit organizations that impact the arts, early childhood reading and family violence prevention. “The United Family Services organization was chosen because of their commitment to strengthening families and communities and working diligently to keeping them safe,” she said. Guimond said giving back to the community is part of Target’s social responsibility program. “We view philanthropy as a core business practice,” she said. “It’s engrained in our legacy.” Since 1946, Target has allocated five percent of its income to the communities it serves. Today, that equates to more than $3 million every week to support education, the arts, social services, and team member engagement. “We appreciate the support of Target for our domestic violence program as well as their support of the communities in which they operate,” said UFS CEO/President Mark Pierman. “This donation will allow us to continue to provide supportive services to victims of domestic violence in our community to keep them safe.”
