UFS counselors help children and teens who have witnessed domestic violence or have been abused themselves. Through art and play activities, group and one-on-one sessions, counselors help children recognize and express their feelings and develop age-appropriate skills for dealing with them.

UFS' Shelter for Battered Women also provides four hours of child care per day for mothers staying at The Shelter. This gives them an opportunity to get counseling, go to a job interview, or find new and safe housing.

Child counseling services are available free of charge. Call 704.332.2513 for Charlotte locations or 704.655.8745 for our Cornelius office.
